An article from David Lee aka the Identity Jedi was published recently that was quite timely and thought-provoking with regards to efficient onboarding of new applications within an Identity Platform.
In the article, which can be found here: https://www.theidentityjedi.com/p/app-onboarding-shouldn-t-take-6-months-here-s-the-better-way-post-5ff8?utm_source=www.theidentityjedi.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=app-onboarding-shouldn-t-take-6-months-here-s-the-better-way-post&_bhlid=ff9d97cf5dfcbe1e7e135873baa68bec2ef96805 David speaks about why it should never take months of time to accomplish.
He describes the bottlenecks as: attribute chaos, manual role / policy mapping, and approval spaghetti - being Italian this was my favorite description of unclear ownership.

The proper way? David advocates to have standardized templates, orchestration, and utilize AI (Artificial Intelligence).
I will end with a direct quote from David Lee, "Is it really the app that's hard to onboard - or is it our process that's stuck in 2013?"
Do you remember what technology you were working on in 2013? Reflecting on my own journey, I was an Oracle DBA immersed in all things relating to 10g/11g. I can fully appreciate the strides that we have made since then.
