Growing up in South Jersey, I was always fascinated by taking gadgets apart and reassembling them to understand their workings. This curiosity drove me to pursue a career in Information Technology.
I spent over ten years in various Support roles. Initially, I focused on hardware support, which included using a punchdown tool for phone extensions and dismantling computers and servers to replace necessary parts for functionality.
When living in New Jersey became too costly, I relocated to North Carolina with just a trash bag of clothes, a microwave, and a Compaq Presario laptop. It was there that I transitioned into software support, assisting hospitals, radiology practices, and numerous other industries with their on-premise solutions. I also developed my database skills, frequently writing SQL expressions to resolve data discrepancies.
As SaaS and cloud solutions gained popularity, I explored other technology roles after spending so much time in Support. During this period, I taught myself SSO (Single Sign-On) to help customers integrate their IdP (Identity Providers) with their SP (Service Providers). I created technical documentation, blogs, and demo videos on the topic, which led me to consider the next phase of my career.
Product Management emerged as the next step. I discovered a passion for addressing customer problems and easing their challenges. I was comfortable having difficult conversations with stakeholders to reach better solutions. I excelled at translating business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
Throughout my career, resilience, tenacity, and empathy have been my guiding principles, helping me continually advocate for my value.
