Pre-Game Rituals?

Do you have any pre-game rituals that you perform before a major sporting event or any other occasion, believing that not doing these repetitive actions will jinx the outcome?

When I participated in Strongman events, my ritual involved wearing a trucker hat inspired by the movie Over The Top. If you're not familiar with it, here's a clip:

On competition day, I'd wear the hat normally, but right before my turn, I'd flip the cap and, in the words of the character Lincoln Hawk, become a machine.

If you look closely you can see it in this image taken several years ago where I was deadlifting a sports car:

Unfortunately, my competition days are over, at least for lifting; now my competition seems to be the job market.

While I don't wear a hat during interviews, I do wear a necklace featuring shattered glass, symbolizing women breaking barriers to be seen, heard, and given equity in all aspects of life.

Reflecting on your recent milestone, did you plan any rituals beforehand, believing they might influence the outcome? What was the result? Is this a case of mind over matter or simply superstition?
