Swipe Right On Me!

Feeling bold and of course tangy, I've decided to share this... After my recent divorce, I ventured into the world of dating apps. It seems a lot has changed since I was last single. From my brief experience, I promptly deactivated my account and removed the apps. This led me to reflect...

Imagine a scenario where employers use a "swipe left or right" system to find candidates. The potential bias and judgment would be significant if hiring managers based their decisions solely on appearance and a short tagline highlighting the person's strengths.

Conversely, imagine how exciting it would be to meet hiring managers face-to-face in a speed-dating style format. You get a brief opportunity to interact with them, and if they find your background appealing and you appreciate the company's culture and management style, you continue the conversation.

I would appreciate it if employers could adopt more innovative approaches to their hiring practices. It seems like the formats are unchanged: more rounds, repetitive questions, similar case studies, and a very one-sided process.

If you could alter the hiring process, what changes would you want to implement? We can all agree that going through numerous hurdles only to be ignored afterward is detrimental to anyone's peace of mind.
